Understanding Art: Practice and Context

Prof. AnunayaChaubey is the Provost at Anant National University, Ahmedabad. An academic and self-taught artist, his paintings are to be found in public and private collections all over the world. He was appointed as the Secretary of the Bihar Lalit Kala Akademi in 2003, and in 2008, was invited by the Government of Mauritius as a Visiting Fellow to set up the Department of Arts and Crafts at the Rabindranath Tagore Institute. He has also been the Principal of the College of Arts & Crafts at Patna University, the Deputy Dean of the Young India Fellowship, and a Teaching Fellow at the Salzburg Academy. Wielding a rich administrative experience in the education sector, he has contributed to several institution-building exercises in India and abroad.

We were delighted to have Prof. Chaubey back at Naropa for the Class of 2020 as he took our Fellows on a journey of understanding art and how artists use it to communicate ideas through the course, 'Understanding Art: Practice and Context'.
